Overdamping
by Graham Betts - Sunday, 21 August 2005, 06:42 PM
Overdamping occurs when the system achieves the desired result without overshooting, but takes longer than necessary to do so, as the critical elements require a slow response time. In overdamping the system response has been overly slowed down. This allows for finer adjustments but much slower response times to feedback.
